Couple of American tv tools, films and commercial sites pay attention to Asian Us citizens. Element of this invisibility of Asian People in america is a result of the myth from the „model minority,“ which is the misconception that since many Asian People in the us strive and be successful, they just do not experience the challenges of racism, prejudice and stereotyping like Jews, African Us americans, Latinos and even the Irish and Italians in the 19th 100 years. Because this „model minority“ is „invisible“ because it’s lives facts are subsumed in the north European Protestant parents , the difficulties and challenges faced by Asian People in the us aren’t identified by the larger society.
Plus, Asian People in the us may often thought as „honorary whites,“ and are usually viewed as very similar to the dominant white neighborhood.
