“A boy without money-getting an erotic spouse? It cann’t appear in our community”: male associates’ position on transactional erotic interactions in Uganda and Eswatini

Abstract

Reports on transactional erotic connections features greatly focused on women’s perspectives. Better understanding the men’s views—especially pertaining to dating with adolescent teenagers and young women—can tell HIV cures initiatives. In 2017, 134 extensive interview were executed with all the male lovers of models and ladies elderly 19–47 years, 94 in Uganda and 40 in Eswatini. Respondents were recruited at venues instance pubs just where as well as promising associates satisfy and through other ladies. Nearly all participants believed that providing money/gifts would be the way to build interaction with women as part of the neighborhoods, a context that some located unwelcome.
